Mahtab is a recent graduate from the University of British Columbia where she received an undergraduate degree in Cognitive Systems, a program that combines the disciplines of computer science, philosophy, psychology, and linguistics. This program emphasized the importance of thinking critically, and through it, she learned (and continues to learn) to ask the right questions rather than passively accepting information as a given. Think Fun Camps drew her in for its focus on a similar philosophy, and for its promotion of an open and engaged community. Her past experiences include involvement in her student society at university, as well as working as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant, and various volunteer roles both in Vancouver and the international community. She is pursuing a career in medicine where she hopes to continue to spend time being involved in the community and working with children.
